As Daufuskie Marsh Tacky Society continues to grow, so does our need for land to be placed into our Rotational Pasture Grazing Program. We need at minimum, one acre per horse to survive. We are pleased have partnered with Preservation South Carolina and the private property owners to utilize the Hinson White Lesesne property, which is part of the Daufuskie Endangered Places Program. The cottage, which is also on the Rob Kennedy Historical Trail, was recently restored by the trust and will continue to be available for vacation rental (with boarding for your horses, too) through Airbnb beginning May 2018. Daufuskie Marsh Tacky Society has made sweat equity improvements to the land including bush hogging, horse fencing, planting pasture grass seed and building a loafing shelter. This is the location that the first Marsh Tacky foals born on Daufuskie in decades can be viewed by the public until May 2018. If you are interested in placing your Daufuskie Island property into our Pasture Program, please contact us today. Help support the Marsh Tacky as well as land conservation on Daufuskie Island – plus enjoy fringe benefits including property improvements and/or tax deductible receipts at the same time.
