With the current, unprecedented and unheard of new Covid-19 lockdowns ordered, we have sheltered in place with a focus on beginning our renovation efforts at the historically significant Simmons House at Selmont Hall. We hope everyone stays safe at this uncertain time. We will continue to post with updates when possible!
When you ride with us, not only are you experiencing the most quintessentially Lowcountry trail riding pursuit available, but 100% of your proceeds from your ride are going to support our SC State Heritage Horses and Daufuskie Marsh Tacky Society’s mission plus general operating expenses. Not a dime is spent on corporate overhead like other trail ride programs in our area. We are family owned, operated and this is our passion. To date we are all volunteers! Choose an equestrian vacation destination with a grassroots purpose. Help support the preservation, conservation and protection of the SC State Heritage Horse in their native habitat. Shop local, ride a Marsh Tacky!
Winter is arguably our favorite time of year on the island. There’s less heat, bugs, snakes and tourists. The season is short so you have to make the days count with jeans, boots, beach rides, trail blazing, bon fires, trout fishing and oyster roasts! It’s stone crab season too. These beautiful claws and clams were cooked in a white wine, butter and scallion sauce. Served with fresh lemon wedges, new potatoes and french bread with a homemade pesto and paired with (more) wine and bourbon, delicious!
